Performance Time
Please work with our Directors to set a clear performance schedule for your school. We need a minimum of 1hr in the same space we will be performing in before our show begins. That is also when we will need access to the changing rooms (see below). Our Companies offer a wide range of dance styles and we customize each show to meet the needs of our audience. All of our dances - movement, content, and costume wise - are appropriate for Elementary-aged children. Our shows range from 30min - 60min. Sample performance schedule: Arrive at 9am. 45min performance at 10am which includes introduction, 6 dances, and a Q&A. Dancers will leave the space in the same condition it was found, 15min after the performance ends.
Performance Space
A performance space with clean floors that are safe for dancing. Dancers wear a variety of footwear including shoes made specifically for dance, sneakers, and socks. In certain pieces dancers will dance barefoot. Our main concern in no splinters. We typically perform on auditorium stages or in gymnasiums. If performing in a gym or cafeteria, we appreciate the floor being swept ahead of time.
Changing Rooms
Dancers change costumes between every piece. We require 1-2 changing rooms that can fit 12 people each. Proximity to the performance space is key. Empty classrooms, offices, and locker rooms are good options.
Sound System
We like our music to be loud! Our preference is to be able to connect to a sound system that the school provides but we are able to bring speakers with us as needed.
Microphone
Our presenters talk a lot during our three day tour. It is helpful to have to a microphone no matter the size of the audience. If your school does not have one available, please let us know and we will provide one.
Respectful Audience
We find that our performances hold the attention of our audiences well and we rarely have any behavioral issues. However, our dancers are also students themselves so we want to work to make sure that they have a good experience during the performances. Please be prepared to have teachers sit with their classes and to encourage students to participate in the experience. In most shows we have time for questions/comments either between pieces or at the end of show. Teachers can help their students ahead of time by talking to them about what kinds of questions/comments would be respectful. Sentences that begin with: I noticed..., I saw...., I wondered..., I liked... are good for comments. We get a wide range of questions from: "How long did it take you to move so fluidly?" to: "Will there be any pink costumes in the next dance?". We welcome all questions and will answer each one seriously.
Contract & Fees
Once you have booked your performance, you will receive a Contract via mail. Please return the contract with your Performance fee within 30 days of receipt. All fees must be paid in advance of your performance.
