Junior Company

The Junior Company is an invitation only company for middle school dancers in 6th, 7th, and 8th grade.
Our mission with the new company is four-fold:

3: Build appreciation for and knowledge of the history of dance.
4: Train dancers to specifically meet the needs of the main company: Teen Jazz

Just like the main company, dancers have the opportunity to work with several choreographers, learning pieces in a range of movement styles in order to present them in performance. Junior Company performances are geared towards a younger audience and designed to be an educational and participatory experience. Our goal is not only to expose our audience to dance, but to engage their minds with critical thinking, enhance their observational skills, and invite them to participate in movement.
2024-2025 Junior Company Members
Bella Gormley (she/her) is a first-year Junior Company member and a 6th grader at Doty Memorial School. She is happy about joining the Company this year because she loves to dance and perform. Her favorite dance style is hip-hop because the audience gets so excited. Outside of dance, she has many other hobbies and interests, which include music, gymnastics, figure skating, and Girl Scouts.
Surprising Fact: "People think I like pasta, but I like pretzels.

Simon Levin (he/him) is a 7th-grade student at U-32 and a first-year Junior Company member. He is excited to join the Company this year to learn challenging dances and have more performance opportunities. In addition to the Company, Simon takes hip-hop, ballet, jazz, and tap. His favorite dance style to perform is hip-hop. When not in dance class, he enjoys theater and downhill skiing.
Surprising Fact: Simon's favorite color is peach.

Ruthie Noyes (she/her) is a 7th grader from Main Street Middle School in her second year of Junior Company. She enjoys the Company because it is a good opportunity to be challenged. Her favorite styles of dance are modern and hip-hop. When not at the studio, you can find her playing basketball, hanging out with friends, and enjoying music. Her favorite artists are Taylor Swift, Frank Ocean, SZA, and Gracie Abrams.
Surprising Fact: Ruthie has been dancing for 9 years.

Eliana Ory (she/her) is a 6th grader at Main Street Middle School, and this is her first year in Junior Company. Her favorite dance style is hip-hop, and she is excited to learn the Junior Company hip-hop piece. When not at the studio, Eliana has many other activities and interests: softball, flue, basketball, and skiing. Her favorite artist is Taylor Swift.
Surprising Fact: Eliana's favorite color is purple.

Genevieve Pekley (she/her) is a student at U-32. She is currently in 7th grade and a second-year Junior Company member. She was excited to be in the company again this year because she had so much fun last year. Her favorite style of dance to perform is hip-hop. This year, at CD&FS, she is excited to assist a Pre-Primary Ballet class as her first assistant class. Outside of dance, she loves to draw.
Surprising Fact: Genevieve's favorite color is mint blue.

Lilith (Lili) Snapp (she/they) is entering her third year as a member of Junior Company. The only 8th-grade student this year, Lili wanted to be a Company member again to improve their dancing and because they love to perform. Her favorite styles of dance to perform are hip-hop, ballet, and jazz. In addition to taking classes, Lili is assisting Ballet 1 for the second year. Beyond dance, they want to learn to sing and play the piano.
Surprising Fact: Lili is teaching herself Korean.
