AnnaMaria DiPietropaolo (she/her) is originally from Northern Virginia, relocating to Vermont in 2013. She has trained in street dance, ballet, modern, tap, musical theater, jazz, and many other modern dance forms. She has a strong interest in the preservation and education of Black dance forms and their communities, as well as the relationship between dance and neurodivergence/mental illness, with the ultimate goal of making dance more accessible and inclusive to all by dismantling deeply rooted

biases. She was a member of Contemporary Dance and Fitness Studio's Teen Jazz company in high school, has attended intensives such as Rennie Harris' Illadelph Legends and Bates Dance Festival, and most recently completed American Dance Festival. She currently resides in central Vermont, working as an office manager and dancer/choreographer, and spends her spare time creating all different kinds of art.
IMPORTANT NOTE: I am a guest in the HipHop community, and I am incredibly grateful for the knowledge and movement that has been shared with me by hosts, elders, and my mentors so that I may pass it on to others. The knowledge that you will hear today comes from Rennie Harris, Moncell Durden, Shakia Johnson, Quilan 'Cue' Arnold, and Millie Heckler. It's vital for me to acknowledge this so I can help eliminate issues in the community such as attribution, representation, and appropriation. We must be the change we want to see in the world, and hire Black dancers and educators to share their knowledge rather than hearing it secondhand from hegemonic bodies.

Rosemary Leach (she/her) has been involved with CD&FS for as long as she can remember. She trained with Lorraine Neal throughout the 1980’s and was a member of the original Teen Jazz. After studying dance at Hampshire College and the Five College Consortium, she continued to center her life around dance while fulfilling other life interests such as love, travel and family. She performed and taught dance in California, Arizona, Maine and Montana before settling back down in 2001 to raise a family in central Vermont. CD&FS is again her dance home, providing her the opportunity for creative, joyful, community connection— for that she is infinitely grateful.
Rose is currently Co-Director of Teen Jazz, alongside Isadora Snapp, and teaches several weekly class at CD&FS. |
